People in Lisboa Carmo Hotel
The total price paid included all bonuses of the location (numerous steps up and down the steep streets to keep fit during vacations, proximity to must-see sights and local atmosphere) and hotel extras (side-view of the Castle from our room 302, fast elevators, water available in the lobby all day, daily cleaning and change of towels etc.) - I am more than satisfied for what we got! The communication and responsiveness of the staff was great, just ask and they will ensure you with a kettle, a nice glass for wine, will open the bottle etc.). I booked early and our flight days were changed, the hotel was elastic and welcoming to modify the booking. The pillows were good, room temperature ok, all toiletteries (conditioner for hair, body lotion) available and replenished. We are fond of walking, but tuk-tuks are often used in the city. Carmo square is a nice place to enjoy a moment of Chiado neighbourhood, also visit Garrett street and its Pastel de Nata shops of Manteigaria and Castro, or Santini ice-cream on rua do Carmo! We had breakfast every morning and it was fully sufficient - with additional hot options by order. I enjoyed plain yougurt and fruit. Welcome set of pastel-de-natas and Ginjinha liqeur perfect to catch the charm of Lisbon and Carmo hotel!

I was extremely happy with the staff, the staff did everything in their power to make our stay an exceptional one . I felt like I was at home and they were family. The room was super clean and the bed was a bed I dream of owning one day as a person with a bad back , the bed was firm with being also comfy and the bedding was so crisp and clean and I just wanted to stay in bed .The cleaning crew of the rooms were so sweet and always made my request at getting more towels no problem , the room also came with a free water bottle everyday which made it super nice . location of the hotel was a dream location , there were shops and even a grocery store within 100 steps to the hotel. The breakfast was the best breakfast I could of ever wished for with many selections of fresh fruit , veggies and meat and eggs and sour dough bread , fresh juices and fresh coffee of your choice , I actually think the breakfast was the best food I ate while in Lisbon .

Perfectly situated, ultra quiet, comfy, clean and convivial hotel nestled on a delightful square, and surrounded by truly excellent restaurants (indeed, one of them in in the hotel) and the best shopping in Portugal. The staff are all earnest, helpful and caring. Also, the hotel is but a five minute walk from the metro, a two minute walk to a pedestrian-only boulevard on which stands the oldest, continuously operating bookstore in the world, and is kitty-cornered to the Carmo convent, one of the few surviving relics of the earthquake that levelled the city in 1755. Oh yeah, and a nine-minute cab ride to the cruise terminal, if you’re heading off to sea after, which we were.

Central, easy access to anywhere you want to visit in Lisbon. Perfect location. Love love the location. The square outside the door step has a lovely atmosphere. You can just sit and chill outside after your dinner. Live music at the square. Evething feels like within 5-10minutes walk. Room has everything you need. Small but just right. Comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast good basic. Staff are amazing. Cannot thank the lovely staff enough. Thank you so much to Beatriz. She's amazing. Helped us with our train to Porto. She's very welcoming and accomodating.

The location was excellent, we could choose to walk, take the Metro, tram or bus within minutes of leaving the hotel. The bedrooms were spacious with quality linens, a very comfortable bed and quality toiletries. All the staff were helpful, professional and polite. We took two of our evening meals in the hotel and the standard of service by the staff was exemplary. The food was excellent,in fact my husband commented that he had had the best prawn risotto that he had ever eaten.
